Help! Apple Powerbook Screen Problems
help! the picture above of my powerbook is not a lovely stripy desktop background, a la Paul Smith but a picture of my wonky powerbook screen. last night while watching a film, labyrinth starring David Bowie, it developed some weird brown stripes, which looked great but gave me just more than a little casuse for concern. the right half of the screen is separated into a light half and a dark half, which changes from time to time. sometimes there are white stripes resembling a spectrum 48k game loading.
maybe it was the goblins, or the Goblin king, but if you have any other suggestions, i'd very much appreciate hearing from you.

Ah bugger!
My Dell Inspiron 9300 did something like that... turns out it's an LCD invertor thingy... I can't be arsed to fix it so I've got the lappy plugged in to a 15" XGA LCD so I've lost a few inches and some widescreen pixelness too :(
Hardly portable now though, is it? ;) :D
It definately wasn't the Goblin King. Probably more like The Cleaners or the Bog of Eternal Stench may have something to do with it...
Where is your closest Apple store? Take it to them and they will hook you up. Sounds like you may have a bad video card?
I love Labrynth, btw. One of my all time favorites. :)
Lever, i've got less pixels than you now, it keeps shrinking. about 3/4 of the screen has disappeared. time to do something with it.
Summer, as luck would have it a newish Apple store has opened in Glasgow, so i'll be toddling off in that direction soon.
ps. if you love Labyrinth, check out Pan's Labyrinth by Guillermo del Toro: just fantastic!
I actually had "Pan's Labyrinth" in my hand today and almost bought it. I don't know why I didn't. Now I have to go back and get it!
get it as fast as you can, you will thank me.
what with your new found Spanish knowledge, you will love it and should be able to watch it without the subtitles.
i watched it again recently and even got my father to sit through the whole movie which is rare.
